I had the pleasure of second shooting this elegant wedding at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, and it was such a joy-filled day from the very beginning. This was my first time shooting with Christine from Speak Via Photo, and she’s incredible. Photographing this day alongside her was so much fun and, fun fact, this wedding actually happened to be on my birthday! Although I don’t usually schedule work on the actual day, I just had to be there to witness such a unique, beautiful venue come-to-life for their wedding. It was absolutely perfect, and such a fun way to start the fall wedding season.
Heather and Ryan’s wedding venue, the California Academy of Sciences is located in the heart of downtown San Francisco, in the middle of Golden Gate Park. It’s the perfect venue if you’re looking for a unique, unforgettable experience for you and your guests! There’s so much to do in downtown SF, so many options for nearby accommodations, and it’s naturally such a unique, stunning backdrop for your day. Heather and Ryan’s ceremony was right in front of the African Penguin exhibit, which was incredible and so special. I love how Heather and Ryan incorporated so much color in their palette through their florals, especially for their reception space. From the stunning ikebana floral centerpieces lining the guests’ tables to the bridal party’s bouquets and boutonnières, this wedding was covered with the most beautiful floral pieces by Olivia Lee in San Francisco, and I couldn’t get enough.
