Mushfi and Jasmine traveled all the way from Texas out to Northern California to celebrate their one-year wedding anniversary in Carmel-by-the-Sea. This evening by the cliffs in Big Sur was spent commemorating their trip, reflecting on their first year of marriage, and watching the sun sink over the ocean together.
I always aim to create experiences for my couples rather than rely solely on the simplicity of going somewhere just to take beautiful photos, and I like to create intentional space for my couples to express gratitude for each other, remember how far they’ve come in their relationship, and just allow their time to slow down for a few minutes as they share a moment together. I loved witnessing how in-the-moment these two were the entire time. Their love is so evident, and watching them experience such a beautiful location for the first time together was really special to document.
If you’re visiting Carmel-by-the-Sea or Big Sur, I highly recommend you check out where we photographed this session at Garrapata State Park! There’s so many scenic views and trails that take you right up to the ocean, and it’s relatively easy to access right from the road without too much hiking involved.
